Cryptopia Requests Bankruptcy Relief & Liquidation in the U.S.

Grant Thornton, the liquidator of the cryptoexchange Cryptopia, has requested a bankruptcy relief. The relief serves to preserve the data of the exchange’s users. Cryptopia is based in New Zealand. However, a company from Arizona stored the data for the exchange. A second request seeks approval for liquidation in the United States.


EOS Continues Sharp Rally – Outperforms Bitcoin & Altcoins

The recent outbreak of Bitcoin dragged all Altcoins with it. However, the rally has ever since stopped momentarily for most cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin. But EOS still continues to rally sharply. As of now, EOS rallied by more than 15% in the last 24 hours. While Bitcoin’s price declined by 0.01% and other cryptocurrencies rose only slightly.

Researcher Finds Vulnerability in Wallet Generator

The researcher Harry Denley, @sniko_ has found a vulnerability in wallets from WalletGenerator.net. The vulnerability consists in the generator dealing out the same wallet keys to several users. Denley states in his Medium post that the code is currently free of the vulnerability. However, if you have used WalletGenerator in the past, you should move your funds to a safe(r) alternative.

Taotao – Japanese Cryptocurrency Exchange to Go Live on May 30th

Through a social media update, Taotao exchange team announced that the platform is finally ready to go live on May 30th. Notably, 40% of the exchange platform shares are owned by Yahoo! and the two main cryptocurrencies that will be traded on the platform immediately after the launch are Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH). Reports indicate that margin trading in Bitcoin Cash (BCH), XRP, and Litecoin (LTC) will also be possible on the platform. The process of setting up Taotao has taken more than a year. In the 40% equity deal, Yahoo is rumored to have paid the exchange 2 billion yen.
